Living your life to the fullest can be a real challenge, especially when you don’t know where to begin. The good thing is, San Mig Light is bringing you the next generation of lifestyle icons who can show you how to get into the light life.

On November 7, San Mig Light concluded Camp Light, its first ever nationwide online competition in search for the next Gen Z Lifestyle Icons ages 21 years old and above who are the embodiment of the light life and will be the newest faces of the brand.

San Mig Light’s first-ever nationwide online competition, Camp Light, culminated on November 7 at Quantum Golf, Pasig City, introducing its finalists to be the nex Gen Z Lifestyle Icons.

Camp Light garnered wide participation from Gen Zs across the Philippines who demonstrated how they live their life to the fullest through a series of content creation challenges showcasing their personality, passion, hobbies, interests, and positive outlooks in life.

After a month of searching, San Mig Light finally presented its top finalists during the Camp Light Culminating Night held at Quantum Golf in Pasig City.

Staying true to its identity, the Culminating Night was a testament of embracing the lightness of life–from playing golf with friends and beating them in arcade games and beer pong to dancing their feet off to the infectious beats and introducing a spicy way to drink San Mig Light by mixing it with chili-lime seasoning.

Neil Feranil, Leika Ong, and Scott Lomboy (left to right) were named as San Mig Light’s newest Lifestyle Icons who will serve as brand ambassadors. Each received Php100,000 cash prize and a full year contract with San Mig Light.

The highlight of the night was the introduction of San Mig Light’s newest Lifestyle Icons: Neil Feranil, Scott Lomboy, and Leika Ong. These three Gen Zs are the embodiment of what the light life is all about—free-spirited and bubbly—and they’re more than ready to show their carefree personalities alongside San Mig Light’s current brand ambassadors, content creator Bea Marin, internet personality Joshua Decena, and musical artist Jason Dhakal, among others.

“I do think that I’m the perfect embodiment of a lifestyle icon because I’m someone who does a lot of things. I’m also someone who faces a lot of struggles, but despite those, I make sure to make things light. As I’ve said, I’m known for doing a lot of things and it’s been really nice to be a jack of all trades, because for me, [being a jack of all trades] is something that fits into the light life,” Neil said as he reflected on why his personality fits San Mig Light’s brand.

Similar to Neil, Leika shared that living a light life means being able to balance everything on her plate.

“I’m currently a college student and about to graduate soon. Aside from this and being a daughter and a friend, I have a lot of things on my plate. And so, it’s necessary for me to balance everything in order to live a light life,” said the 21-year-old Lifestyle Icon.

For Scott, on the other hand, his fun and bubbly personality perfectly represent what San Mig Light is all about.

“You can see that in my videos, I always showcase my true self. My fun and bubbly personality, being family-oriented, all my talents and passion—those things give you a glimpse of who I am and what I can do to live my life to the fullest,” Scott uttered.

Being the newly-crowned Lifestyle Icons, the three gushed over the things they are most looking forward to doing with the San Mig Light family.“I’m just excited for our future projects and I can’t wait to meet my fellow Lifestyle Icons,” Scott answered.

Staying true to its identity of embracing the lightness of life, the Camp Light Culminating Night was a night of golf, games, fun, and party.

Beaming with excitement, Leika shared, “I want to make sure that we get to enjoy this opportunity because it’s honestly big. And so, I want to influence everyone and be the perfect Lifestyle Icon for them.”

Neil, who also shared the same sentiment with Leika, said, “Of course, we’re looking forward to seeing ourselves in San Mig Light’s campaigns and showcasing what the brand is all about. I, too, can’t wait to enjoy the moment because this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. So, why not enjoy it and live life to the fullest?!”

But, of course, being the face of Camp Light comes with great responsibility, and these newest Lifestyle Icons acknowledge that fact. With their new title, these three Filipino Gen Zs hope they can leave a lasting impact on their fellow Gen Zs by becoming a role model and setting an example that they, too, can live their life to the fullest.

“For me, I think we should use this platform wisely by promoting how to use social media responsibly,” Neil answered, adding that social media is created to give us knowledge and enjoy it.

“And since San Mig Light Camp Light’s tagline is to ‘Get into the Light Life,’ I think as a Lifestyle Icon, we are here to promote that. We are here to showcase how people can get into the light life and that’ll be, I believe, our duty for the next year,” he added.

On Leika’s side, on the other hand, said that she, too, would use the title to spread the message of San Mig Light.

“Despite facing struggles, which by the way make us stronger, I want to embody San Mig Light’s message and still enjoy life by striving hard and living life to the fullest. I want to spread San MigLight’s message to everyone and think to themselves that, ‘Oh, this is what light life is all about,’” said Leika.

For Scott, he believed that he could set a perfect example to his fellow youth by showing that they, too, can reach their dreams by doing their best.

“I want [my fellow youth] to not give up on their dreams, and if there’s a chance that opportunities like this knock on their door, they should give their 110% so they won’t regret it someday—just like what I’m doing,” Scott added.

With that being said and all, the question remains: how do we even begin to live a light life?

“Surround yourself with amazing people, such as your friends and family. For me, that’s one way to get into the light life because once I’m with them, I just feel relaxed,” Leika thoughtfully shared.

“Bond with your family, play basketball with friends, and of course, pray,” Scott answered.

“My answer is simple: listen to music to allow yourself to feel. That’s what I actually do. When I’m sad, I listen to senti songs. When I’m happy, I listen to techno and EDM. And of course, while you’re at it, enjoy a good San Mig Light bottle, as well!” said Neil.

San Mig Light presented the nine finalists of Camp Light who all showcased their free-spirited personalities through a series of video challenges.

As new Lifestyle Icons, Neil, Leika, and Scott are very much excited to show to their fellow Gen Zs what it’s like to live a light life and enjoy it without regrets. With San Mig Light, the fun doesn’t stop because they have more fun surprises up in their sleeves to get you into the light life! GWEN GENCIANOS.
