YesMadam, a salon home service start-up, has been in the news lately after it allegedly fired staff members who expressed “significant stress” from their workload in a survey that the company conducted.
A screenshot of an email sent by the company’s human resources department announcing the decision has gone viral on social media.
So recently a startup named YesMadam sent out survey to team members on how stressed they are AND? Guess what… fired the ones who had voted they are under extreme stress.

According to the email, the poll was conducted by the Dehli-NCR-based business to gauge employee stress levels. A surprising choice was made as a result of the findings: “parting ways” with people who had “major stress.”
“Recently, we conducted a survey to understand your feelings about stress at work. Many of you shared your concerns, which we deeply value and respect,” as indicated in the email.
After considering their employees’ feedback, the HR further stated that they have made “the difficult decision to part ways with employees who indicated significant stress.”
The frank tone of the email and the choice to terminate anxious workers rather than listen to their concerns have sparked criticism on the internet.

YesMadam has since released a statement clarifying that no one got fired from the company.
Their statement reads, “We sincerely apologize for any stress caused by the recent social media posts suggesting we dismissed employees for being stressed. Let us be clear: We would never take such an inhumane step.”
“The social media posts were a planned effort to highlight the serious issue of workplace stress. And to those who shared angry comments or voiced strong opinions, we say Thank you. When people speak up, it shows they care – and care is at the heart of our business,” they added.
They went on to clear things up that the employees were given a break to be able to relax and release their stress and not terminate their employment with the company.
