With so many aspiring singers auditioning on TV competition shows like America’s Got Talent, it’s easy to just take a pass on them unless they show something exceptional. This teenage girl won the hearts of the audience and the votes of the judges with her inspiring story and her emotional singing performance.
On a recent episode of America’s Got Talent, 13-year-old Evie Clair from the little town of Florence, Arizona, had the audience in tears during her audition. She sang a moving rendition of Christina Perri’s 2011 song “Arms” and dedicated it to her dad who was diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon Cancer about a year ago.

“They gave him a five percent chance to live, and he continued working and supporting our family. So tonight I’m here to sing for him,” Evie tearfully told judge Simon Cowell.
When asked why she chose the song “Arms,” she shared that it was the song she used to sing to her father to make him feel better and give him the strength to keep fighting. The audience was reduced to tears as Evie shared her family’s story and proved that she’s more than just a sob story.
After her performance, Evie got a standing ovation from the crowd and the judges. Christina Perri also praised her in a tweet.
THIS IS SO BEAUTIFUL 😭🙏🏼❤️ https://t.co/OgXi36iOJ0
