UNIS delights PH fans at ‘UNIS in CURIOUS Land’ fancon with exceptional performances

On October 24, 2024, K-pop girl group UNIS held their media convention at the Sheraton Manila Hotel in Pasay, where they unveiled thrilling details about the group and their eagerly awaited ‘UNIS in CURIOUS Land’ Fancon.

Following their fan meeting in May 2024, this was the second time that the girl group performed in the Philippines. They were thankful for the love of their fans, as they were able to come back earlier than expected.

“Yes, and I think I’ll be speaking on behalf of all the members when I say that we’re really thankful for the ever-afters in the Philippines who showed so much love and support ever since the beginning,” Elisia said.

UNIS added that they are ecstatic that they were able to return to the country and made such good memories from their previous fan meeting earlier this year.

“We made so many good memories, and it was such a meaningful experience, and I have confidence in saying that I feel like we’ve improved so much since then and developed so ang masasabi ko nalang ay abangan ‘niyo lang po ang aming fancon [All I can say is just wait for our fan con],” Ghelee said.

Hyeonju, the oldest member of the group, said that this would be the first time they’ll be performing the songs from their single album ‘Curious’ on stage.

“We also have special stages prepared. And these special stages, you’ll only be able to see these at the event mismo [itself],” Elisia added.

She also said that UNIS prepared for the Fancon by teaching, the other members Tagalog.

“A little bit of a TMI, the members often ask a lot about Tagalog to me and Ate Gehlee and, syempre [of course] as first-time teachers, we worked really hard to teach them. And thankfully, the other members they’re trying their best to understand us and they’re actually doing really well, I think,” she stated.

Kotoko added that it was kind of hard for her as the group would be showing a lot of new choreographies for the stage performances.

UNIS is also aiming to promote their name to more audiences and hopes that once the audience here their name, they would think of their group as someone who represents this generation.

The group also said that they are looking forward to collaborating with the nation’s girl group BINI.

“Yeah, well, us UNIS kasi, we had the chance to do a cover of our Ates from BINI’s Pantropiko […], and since then, I think it would be really interesting for BINi and UNIS, a K-pop girl group, to come together and work together and just make their own new concoction or a new song,” Elisia said.

UNIS ended their mediacon by performing two of their songs, ‘Curious’ and ‘Poppin.’

UNIS in CURIOUS Land Fancon

On October 25, 2024, UNIS finally took the stage at their much-awaited UNIS in ‘CURIOUS Land Fancon’ at the New Frontier Theater in Quezon City

The girl group’s fandom, EverAfters, screamed in excitement as a video of their recording session of the hit song played on the screens of the theater.

The video recording showed the two Filipina members, Gehlee and Elisia, teaching the other members correct pronunciations of the Tagalog lyrics of the song.

The 8-member girl group followed the recording with a surprise performance of the hit song.

The K-pop girl group opened their fan on by performing their songs ‘Superwoman,’ ‘Dopamine,’ and ‘Poppin,’ followed by their hit songs ‘CURIOUS’ and ‘Dream of Girls.’

They also teased the fans by giving out hints of the next song before they had their first-ever stage performance of ‘Dating Myself.’

UNIS then performed ‘Pantropiko’ by Filipino P-pop girl group BINI and TWICE’s smash hit ‘CHEER UP,’ which had the crowd even more ecstatic and dancing in their seats.

Lucky EverAfters got a chance to bond with the girl group and won polaroids and signed albums.

UNIS concluded their fancon by performing their song ‘Watchu Need’ as an encore and thanked Filipino fans for coming despite the inclement weather.

The girl group then announced that they would be donating a portion of their concert earnings to those affected by the typhoon.
