Nick Jonas abruptly exits stage after being pointed a laser at during Prague concert

A laser pointer was pointed at Nick Jonas during a Jonas Brothers performance, which led him to quickly run off stage.

The incident happened on October 15, during the band’s “Five Albums, One Night” performance in Prague, Czech Republic, when an audience member entered the venue with a forbidden laser pointer and pointed it at the musician while they were performing.

While making a “time out” sign with his hands, Jonas was seen sprinting off the stage in a video that other concertgoers posted on social media.

In a report made by Variety, the spokesperson of Prague’s O2 Arena said that the incident forced the show to halt for a few minutes.

“We can confirm that the Jonas Brothers’ performance had to be interrupted for several minutes due to the use of a prohibited laser pointer by the person,” the representative told the outlet. “The organizing service responded to this fact. After a few minutes, the band continued their performance.”

Due to audience members throwing objects on stage or making strange requests, the safety of performers on stage has become a contentious issue in recent years.

Adele, Kelsea Ballerini, Taylor Swift, Harry Styles, and other artists have addressed the alarming trend. Swift’s August performances in Vienna, Austria were postponed after government officials learned of the possibility of an ISIS-related terror strike, which further heightened fears.

“Having our Vienna shows canceled was devastating. The reason for the cancellations filled me with a new sense of fear, and a tremendous amount of guilt because so many people had planned on coming to those shows,” Swift said in an Instagram post. “But I was also so grateful to the authorities because thanks to them, we were grieving concerts and not lives.”

The postponed European leg of the Jonas Brothers’ “Five Albums, One Night” tour is already underway and is coming to a close in Krakow, Poland.

As of this writing, Jonas Brothers has not yet commented on the said incident.
