Warner Music Australia today announce their official showcase events as a part of the inaugural SXSW Sydney program. Taking place at KYIV Social on Wednesday 16 October, Warner Music Group Presents CENE Mixer @ SXSW Sydney – an intimate showcase event featuring WMG artists Bean Magazine (AU), CHISEKO (AU), Jason Dhakal (PHIL), Oliva Marsh (KR), and a new WMA signing to be announced.
Jason Dhakal, a queer R&B/neo-soul artist from the Philippines, just released his new single “Favorite Song” featuring DENȲ. The track captures a sensual dialogue between lovers, blending Filipino and English lyrics to evoke both intimacy and passion. Known for his velvety smooth vocals and impressive songwriting, Jason has consistently wowed both local and international audiences since debuting in 2018 with his EP Night In. His collaborations with artists like Jess Connelly, crwn, and Arthur Nery have solidified his place in the music scene, and his SXSW Sydney performance is sure to be a standout.
The Warner Music SXSW Sydney showcase events solidify the globally connected nature of the label, with artists from the Philippines, Korea, New Zealand, and Australia represented – reinforcing the company’s mission to make our local artists global, and global artists local. The SXSW Sydney showcases will be a unique opportunity for SXSW Sydney badge and music wristband holders to discover some of the most exciting Warner Music artists to come out of our region in live settings.
