Blake Lively asked to take notes on how Anne Hathaway apologized to a journalist for ‘cringe’ 2012 interview

In a new video uploaded by celebrity interviewer Kjersti Flaa, she shared that Anne Hathaway’s publicist reached out through an email forwarding a message from the Princess Diaries actress, regarding a 2012 interview that Flaa did with her.

The 2012 interview was done for the film Les Miserables, and the celebrity interviewer thought of a creative way to conduct the interview by singing the questions to the casts and prompting them to reply by singing as well.

The actors she interviewed were Hugh Jackman, Russel Crow, Eddie Redmayne, Amanda Seyfried, who all seemed to either laugh or ride along the unusual interview, in comparison to Anne Hathaway who immediately shut down the attempt of Flaa with three direct, “No.”

Flaa was surprised that Anne Hathaway reached out and in the first place would even see the video she made talking about the 2012 interview. “But she did, and she did something pretty amazing.”

Although it was decided by both Flaa and Hathaway not to share the message publicly since it was a very personal note, the celebrity interviewer said that the actress sent a long email explaining what she was going through during the time the interview was done.

She added that Hathaway apologized, “for giving me an awful interview basically.” The celebrity interviewer was touched and felt grateful for the act, to which she replied to Hathaway.

Hathaway then offered Flaa a sit down interview for her next film coming out in May.

Many comments from this video reacted positively on how Anne Hathaway and her publicist handled the situation, with others saying that Blake Lively should take notes from this.

Blake Lively recently trended for a number of issues including her ‘questionable’ marketing take on her recent film, ‘It Ends with Us.’ In the flurry of disapproval, a ‘very uncomfortable’ 2016 interview of Kjersti Flaa with Blake Lively and her Cafe Society co-star Parker Posey suddenly made the rounds online after the journalist uploaded it in her YouTube channel amid the backlash of her press tour for ‘It Ends With Us.’ In the video titled ‘The Blake Lively interview that made me want to quit my job,’ it appears Lively and Posey deliberately ignored Flaa after a tense exchange over a “baby bump” remark.

On X (formerly Twitter) though, some social media users are sharing a different reaction after learning of Anne Hathaway’s apology, with some saying that there wasn’t anything to apologize for and that maybe “it happening twice, means it’s not the actresses fault.”
