Licensed pharmacist and content creator Arshie Larga is reminding his fellow content creators about their responsibility as influencers amid the ongoing submission of certificate of candidacy for the midterm elections in 2025.
In a post he made via X (formerly Twitter), he emphasized that content creators should “do their research first’ in the event that they get approached by electoral aspirants ahead of the next election.
“Sa mga content creators na makakakuha ng inquiry [To content creators who will get an inquiry] to endorse a certain political candidate, please do your research first. Alamin nyo ang mga plataporma ng mga kandidatong ito [Know the platforms of these candidates]. Let’s be responsible content creators. Don’t do it just for the money. Future natin ang nakataya dito [Our future is at stake here],” he wrote.
He then went on writing, “Personally, hindi ako magpapabayad para lang i-endorse ang isang kandidato. Kung may makita man kayong post ko about a certain political candidate, it’s because naniniwala ako sa kakayahan ng kandidatong ito at sa kanyang plataporma. Yun lang po [Personally, I won’t let them pay me just to endorse a candidate. If you see a post of mine about a certain political candidate, it’s because I believe in the ability of the candidate and their platform. That’s all].”

Other social media users shared their thoughts about his post. Many of them agreed and echoed the influencers’ sentiments.
One user wrote, “Sadly, majority ng content creators hindi ganito mag-isip. Kahit man lang sana sa pulitika huwag munang pera isipin kaso wala eh [Sadly, majority of the content creators do not think like this. At least even in politics do not think about the money, but that’s not the case].”
“Use the influence of content creators to promote good governance and accountability,” another user wrote.
A third user wrote, “Please lang please lang, totoong responsibilidad ng bawat isa ang pagkilala sa mga pulitiko pero malaking ambag ng desisyon sa pagboto ay yung mga nakikitang endorsement sa social media [Just please, everyone’s real responsibility is to know the politician but a big contribution to the decision in voting is the endorsement seen on social media].”
More social media users have further added their insights to what Larga posted, emphasizing that it is our duty to vote responsibly.
Let this serve as a reminder to all content creators and voters to conduct prior research on candidates’ platforms before endorsing or voting for them.
