Admit it: sometimes, it’s quite difficult to pursue romantic connections when you are busy with your career (especially if you have a demanding job). But for this Thai company, employees are given the time off to go on dates and meet new people, and they’re even paid for it.
Whiteline Group, a marketing firm in Thailand, has introduced a new benefit for its single employees: the “Tinder leave.” According to media reports, this initiative will allow the company’s employees to seek new connections and explore dating options on the Tinder app.
While the company didn’t mention the number of days allocated for the Tinder leave, Whiteline Group will cover the cost for six-month-long Tinder Gold and Tinder Platinum subscriptions starting from June until December of this year.
“We [are giving] free six-month long Tinder platinum and Tinder Gold [subscription] to our employees. [They] can use Tinder leave for dating someone,” the company announced in a LinkedIn post.
In case you didn’t know, Tinder Gold allows users to see who likes them, can match with people all over the world, have unlimited likes, and can redo their last like and nope. Tinder Platinum, on the other hand, is the higher tier subscription that allows users to attach a note with every Super Like they send and boost their profile for 30 minutes.
This unconventional perk is part of the company’s efforts to improve the well-being of their employees. The firm also believes that this can boost their productivity as studies have shown that being in love can increase their happiness, which in turn, makes them enjoy their work.
True enough, in a recent survey conducted by an American relationship wellness company, their findings suggested that there’s a strong correlation between a person’s performance at work and their romantic relationships.
According to the survey results, out of 1,000 people, 76% of them reported that they feel happier at work when they are in a happy and healthy relationship, arguing that this not only increases their productivity but also improves the company as well.
“Employees who feel like their personal lives are respected and valued are typically more engaged, motivated, and productive. That’s why it’s crucial for employers—at least those who want to enhance job satisfaction and performance—to empower employees to balance their work and relationships,” the study read.
This isn’t the first time Tinder leave has been introduced by companies. In August, global creator and entertainment company Gushcloud International announced its partnership with Tinder to provide sponsored Tinder Platinum subscriptions and one-day Tinder leave for its employees in Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, and Thailand.
What do we think about this new benefit? Do we swipe right or left?
