The singer stated that she would rather “get arrested” than try her hand at acting in a new cover story for Interview magazine, which was released on August 19.

In a conversation with Saturday Night Live star Bowen Yang, he asked Roan about her potential transition from music to acting in the event that pop stardom proved to be too much for her.

“I say this with peace, and love, and blessings. Actors are f—ing crazy,” the singer told Yang.

“Like I get so freaked out by film people. I’ve been asked in the past couple of weeks like, ‘You want the lead in XYZ?’ and I’m like, ‘No,’” she added.

Roan stated she appreciated the interest but would have to decline, even though she did not disclose any of the projects she had been approached with.

She confessed that she started singing to “get my foot in the door” into acting.

However, she dropped the goal upon arriving in Los Angeles. “The industry is legitimately so scary, and it is so out of my control. I can put out music whenever I want. I don’t have to wait for a casting director to be like, ‘It would be great if we cast you, and then we’ll decide your schedule for the next three months,” she stated.

The “Good Luck Babe!” singer said that she’d consider a cameo role if it was “really specific and really silly.”

In terms of bigger roles, she stated, “I’ve been trained how to act, but it’s the most stressful thing in the world to me. I would rather get arrested… because I know how to operate myself in jail.”

Previously, the singer-songwriter called out her fans of becoming stalkers, saying that the biggest change in her career has been being acknowledged by others. She also talked about how her tour has been all-consuming for her.
