Benedict Cua surprises people with news of fatherhood, impresses Pinoys with ‘airtight’ private life

Filipino-Chinese content creator and public figure Benedict Cua, 31, shared  with all his followers and viewers the intimate news that he is now a dad.

In an Instagram post, he shared snaps of himself carrying his newborn baby, with and a heartfelt message for his healthy and beautiful baby named Aleck.

“Aleck, my son. The love of my life. No words can explain this overwhelming love that I feel as I cradle you in my arms. My beautiful warrior, you fill me with awe and excitement. I promise to be your home and your protection. To nurture you with infinite love, the same love you’ve already shown me from the moment you took your very first breath,” he wrote.

He also included a message written in Chinese characters: “宝宝,爸爸很爱你 [Baby, daddy loves you very much]”

Cua’s news caused both a wave of excitement and shock among Filipinos online. Many users on X (formerly known as Twitter) shared their reactions and marveled at how Cua kept his life private despite being active on social media platforms.

Others commented and quote-retweeted the original tweet, saying:

A user also acknowledged that what Cua shared online does not entirely embody his whole life.

This only proves that what we thought we knew was just the tip of the iceberg. People could be so loud on social media posting stuff but what we tend to not know is everything is carefully curated.”
