Film Concerts PH, a new venture aiming to elevate the entertainment landscape in the Philippines, officially announces its launch. Founded by Mikhail Schemm, former co-founder and managing director of CC:Concepts, Film Concerts PH will bring live formats that combine the magic of popular films and intellectual properties (IPs) with the power of live orchestral music.
Film Concerts PH introduces a unique format where symphony orchestras perform live and in sync with screenings of films and other beloved content, including video games, anime, and documentaries. This innovative approach promises to deliver unforgettable experiences that immerse audiences in the world of their favorite movies and content like never before.
The company’s inaugural shows are set to be announced by the end of May 2024 and tickets will be on sale via Ticketworld. Fans can anticipate a diverse lineup of events, featuring cult movie series, kids and family favorites, video game music, anime-based concerts, and much more.
Leading the helm of Film Concerts PH is Mikhail Schemm, who brings 10+ years experience in the live events and entertainment business. Schemm was instrumental in bringing the first Harry Potter film concert to Manila in 2019 with the previous company, in addition to “Call Me By Your Name In Concert” in 2018.
Film Concerts PH has also secured a collaboration with renowned Philippine conductor Gerard Salonga, currently the resident conductor of the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra in Kuala Lumpur, who will be in Manila to conduct for select events. Salonga is set to revive his own Filharmonika Orchestra to collaborate with Film Concerts PH, promising extraordinary musical performances.
Commenting on the launch, Mikhail Schemm stated, “Content based live experiences – whether based on film, TV, or video games – is a rapidly growing sector with new formats emerging constantly. We’re hoping to bring more exciting entertainment options to the Philippines to cater to the needs of the growing, dynamic, and youthful population.
The first show announcement will be happening shortly, the week of May 27th, so stay tuned!
