Filipino pageant fans take humor over seemingly never-ending MUPH2024 coronation program

Pinoy pageant enthusiasts tapped into their Filipino humor following the seemingly endless program of Miss Universe Philippines 2024 coronation night.

Surely, there are only two events that can shut the nation’s bustling streets: a Manny Pacquiao match and a Miss Universe coronation. In this case, as the Philippines’ obsession with beauty pageants is deeply rooted in tradition, expect a frenzy of intentional sick leaves and viewing parties—all with much curiosity and excitement on who will be the next title holder.

However, while everyone could not wait to hear about the new winner, organizers really took the event to a different level of anticipation with their five-hour-long program, with several performances and lengthy commercials, resulting in some pageant fans having mixed reactions.

Yet, the very long program doesn’t even stand a chance to get the Filo community enraged, as some even poked fun to divert their boredom into humor.

Social media users took to Facebook and X (formerly Twitter) their wits, perhaps, to simply dash a little laughter between the commercials.

Some said that viewers could even get to do their nails during breaks and still get to watch the following segment, while some jokingly said that they even got a chance to take a power nap.

While many interesting events happened during the MUPH2024 coronation (well, given its duration), this event is truly a testament to how passionate the Filipinos are, where everyone’s willing to sacrifice their time to support their bets and clap their hands to those who will win the titles, bitterness aside.
