Real-life ‘Up’ house takes flight, 8,000 balloons set to soar

In celebration of the 15th anniversary of the animated movie “Up,” a real-life version of the film’s iconic and humorous house has been crafted, complete with a lift 50 feet off the ground by a crane.

The house was built from scratch by CEO of Airbnb, Brian Chesky, with over 8,000 balloons for the illusion of the helium-filled ones in the Disney movie that we’ve all grown to love. However, when discussing the possibility of individuals being inside the house during its lift by crane, Chesky emphasized caution, “I think we maybe won’t have them inside the house when we lift it, just for safety reasons,” he told the Associated Press.
