A new tune is playing in the air for Poppert, an original alumnus of The Ryan Cayabyab Singers and The Voice of the Philippines (TVOP) Season 2 contestant, with his new single entitled “Go With The Flow”.
Poppert, who is also a familiar face in local theater, penned the song a year ago as a birthday gift for his supporters. He intended to sing it on his own as a “hugot song” but it slowly evolved to a light and upbeat number which has an uplifting message. He says, “I am so proud that my single turned out to be a perfect reminder that whatever circumstance or situation we have in our lives, it is very important to listen to our heart, roll with the punches and move on with this journey called life”.
It is no surprise that Poppert’s original song with musical arrangement by Ace Libre is getting a lot of attention and interest in the music industry. Shortly after its release, “Go With The Flow” made it to #19 in iTunes Philippines and is one of the few OPM titles that made it to its Top 200 Chart. Due to daily online votes and requests, the official music video is also steadily climbing up local music video charts and countdowns.
With all the negative things happening around us, Poppert’s fellow thespians, recording artists, and other friends in the industry like OPM president, Ogie Alcasid, fellow Davaoeño, KZ Tandingan; Birit Queen, Klarisse de Guzman; comedienne, Ai-Ai delas Alas; Rak of Aegis castmates, Kakai Bautista, Aicelle Santos, and Pepe Herrera; Ryan Cayabyab, Matteo Guidicelli and even his TVOP coach, Sarah Geronimo, welcome the song’s positivity and are flowing with praise in their respective online posts.
Poppert’s noteworthy lyrics partly goes, “Huwag papatalo sa takot na gawa mo upang buhay na gusto ay makamtan mo. Ang sabi nila, go with the flow. Bastat sundin mo lang ang bulong ng puso, lahat mapapasayo” (Do not be defeated by the fear that you yourself created. Everything will fall in its rightful place if you follow your heart and go with the flow).
Less than three years after the singer’s magnanimous 4-chair turn in his TVOP blind auditions, Poppert is thankful for the doors that opened up for him. He feels very blessed and believes that there is hope despite all of life’s difficulties. He says, “growing up I learned to live by many sayings that with all the lemons that life throws at us, we have to do our best to make the best tasting lemonade.” He adds, “by going with the flow, we have the opportunity to learn to accept the things that we cannot change and have the the courage to change those that we can.
“Go with The Flow” is now on Spotify, iTunes, Deezer and Amazon.com. For more information, follow Poppert on Facebook: /poppertofficialfanpage; Instagram: @iampoppert and Twitter: @poppertRCS.
