Filipinos have mixed feelings about Taylor Sheesh not receiving Taylor Swift’s ‘22 hat’

Grammy-winning singer Taylor Swift is currently in Singapore for her Eras Tour and in attendance for the said concert was drag performer Taylor Sheesh.

The drag queen became viral after she was seen performing the pop star’s greatest hits on a mall upon knowing that The Eras Tour will not make a stop here in the Philippines.

She made a post on X, sharing her seat number is close to the main stage, and wrote, “LEZZZ GOOWWWWWW @taylornation13 @taylorswift13 💖💖💖💖PF6 Row 5 Seat 24!!! 🤟🏼🤟🏼🤟🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼”

Prior to this, she also attended the Japan and Australia leg of the tour.

For context, there’s a segment during the show wherein the pop star performs her hit song “22” and hands out a black fedora with her signature to one lucky fan. This said hat is seen on her music video for the single.

The drag queen was not selected to receive the hat during the show and was given to a young girl to receive the coveted souvenir.

This stirred a debate online upon knowing that the drag queen did not receive the said hat and social media users had divided reactions, with some saying that the drag performer deserves receiving the hat and meeting the pop star up close. Others felt that this should not be an issue in the first place.
