Filipino drag queen Taylor Sheesh has gone global owing to her phenomenal recreation of Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour.
It all began last year as avid Filo Swifties anxiously waited if Taylor would bring the Eras tour to the Philippines, but did not. So, a local fanbase organized the show that has now went on as a free performance for thousands of Swifties who could not get tickets for the real thing.
On February 16, Filipino Taylor Swift impersonator Taylor Sheesh came to Australia and finally performed her first-ever international show.
The event was made possible by All the Queens Men producer Tristan Meecham, bringing the Filipino drag queen to Melbourne to perform the viral act in front of thousands of fans at Federation Square.
Swifties flocked to the stadium to witness Taylor Sheesh’s 90-minute version of the Eras Tour, with stunning costume replicas and backup dancers included in the show.
Australian fans in the audience carried banners with a loud cheer from the crowd.
The drag queen recreated Taylor’s blue bodysuit from Midnights, her flowing dress from Speak Now, and the Red two-piece, all of which she wore.
In an interview with Today, Taylor Sheesh expressed her shock and pleasure at the success of her lip-synced tribute gigs.
“We didn’t expect that we would went on viral after our recreation of the Eras Tour. So, right now, we are forever grateful [to] what’s happening, and always thanks to the fans and to my fellow Swifties,” she said.
It goes without saying that the drag queen has always loved Taylor Swift. While in Melbourne, Sheesh saw Swift perform during her tour in Tokyo and at her final Melbourne concert on Sunday night (February 18).
Like many of us are, Sheesh also claimed that her all-time fave Taylor Swift songs are Love Story and You Belong With Me. “Those songs are very old but forever gold,” she notes.
As she continues to reach people worldwide on TikTok and other social media platforms, Sheesh is being treated like a rock star and is attracting sizable throngs of Taylor Swift enthusiasts to her Eras Tour performances.
Now, Taylor Sheesh is bringing thousands of people together to wider locations as her free shows, now dubbed the Errors Tour, continues.
