Let’s say that…not a lot of people were in awe of Beomhan’s debut track.
Chinese American singer/dancer/rapper Beomhan made his debut on January 31, 2024, with the single, “Me Myself and I”. Beomhan is an independent artist, being a popular K-Pop trainee and was formerly under FM Entertainment until leaving in September 2023.
Beomhan was also a former member of the pre-debut boy group M.O.N.T Arena along with ONE PACT’s Jay Chang. In 2021, he had released a pre-debut project single titled “Sun’s Up” featuring M.O.N.T’s Roda, and another song titled “Ashes feat. M.O.N.T’s Roda”.
Beomhan appeared in different K-Pop festivals in the United States and also released a song with Jay Chang titled “The Awakening” in 2022.
His journey as an aspiring K-Pop idol has been followed by fans from the beginning, and he has constantly updated his fans on social media. And now that he’s debuted, many were definitely happy that he’s finally a K-pop idol—especially with him spending his own money to fund it.
For his debut, he hired his own dance coach, choreographer, videographer, producers—everyone, out of his own pocket.
However, expectations for Beomhan’s highly anticipated debut fell short after hearing the song “Me Myself and I”.
Beomhan’s fans were quick to send in messages of praise and congratulating him for finally debuting. But, there were still some K-pop fans that expressed their dislike of the song because of its poor music production. Others also redid the mixing for his single as a suggestion.

— allison (@chaeyeontalk) January 31, 2024

you CHOSE to release that wack ass song independently and now you on here begging for sympathy and payola because everyone hated it? 🥴 yeah we see why you didn’t debut pic.twitter.com/AjBzHLM1zn https://t.co/pTkIJhBQz7

Someone redid the mixing for beomhan’s song + suggested watching in 1.25x speed & it sounds so much better
yeah he’s not an amazing singer (he’s a rapper/dancer), but he’ll improve over time. It’s mostly the song mixing, singing too slowly/vocal direction, & pronunciation. https://t.co/0uAbeMibHn pic.twitter.com/F0eNGmX6fn

You can be a fan of beomhan and support him independently debuting but also realise that his song he debuted with is objectively not good and doesn’t fit his voice at all lol, let’s not be delusional.

It also came to the point where Beomhan himself apologized and “unannounced” his debut. He also released a muted version of his single.
LOL 😭

Other K-Pop fans came to his defense and basically berated how K-Pop stans were too cruel with their own comments. It is known in the K-Pop stan community how Beomhan has been open with his mental health and his struggles as a K-Pop trainee, so receiving this kind of treatment was definitely a low blow.
I hate that he even posted this. I'm not a die hard beomhan stan by any means but Jesus christ people have some basic kindness for a guy who put so much work into debuting independently after being mistreated by his company for so long. pic.twitter.com/9t1vKjpXCy

Seriously fuck kpop stans. You all claim to care about idols’ mental health but none of you give a shit. I don’t care how bad you think Beomhan’s song is. It does not warrant the atrocious comments that are being made toward him.
— Ray 🕸 (@spideryeo) February 1, 2024
wait beomhan is independent now? now knowing his determination and passion for the process of becoming a kpop idol, but kpop stans just want to make fun of his works not considering the struggles of limited resources.. why cant we be kind and supportive at least pic.twitter.com/HzcA3x8ZuO
— 🧄🫕🥖🥜🌮🫓🥔🌰 (@crynte) February 1, 2024
the mixed vocals didnt do Beomhan vocals justice
but i wanna actually discuss how
kpop stans dont understand the difference between critique and being a hateful person
cuz why have i been seeing some people sending hate towards him over music……. pic.twitter.com/hW0erWELjq— #1 schoolin life stan (@Kpopstan5670) February 1, 2024

I will go down FIGHTING for Beomhan bro, you do not understand. Not only has he helped me through some dark ass times, he also just straight up DOESN'T deserve this shit pic.twitter.com/NDQGxvzzJu

Beomhan makes banger music yall 😞 check out his other songs, once he has a better budget he’ll get master producers to make absolute bangers like this. pic.twitter.com/jivHpw5f9L

this actually made me cry because knowing beomhan he’s the type to joke around when he’s hurt :/ Yall make me so sad man. I hope he has a good support system because I can’t imagine what he’s going through right now. pic.twitter.com/5R5Gvb67KY

all of you making fun of beomhan is so fucking upsetting because you will preach mental health matters and to protect idols but throw it all away at one “bad” song when this man has been vocal about his self harm and mental health struggles. fuck every single one of you.

It’s not even ‘criticism’ it’s just straight up being an asshole. Keeping in mind beomhan is by himself and trying his best, yous do not deserve him at all, you don’t have to love the song, but you can still support him pic.twitter.com/0zV9M1ug3r
— Minichu (@min_minichu_) January 31, 2024
beomhan has gone through enough shit with his old company already, on top of that he’s struggled badly with his mental health (which he’s been very open about on live) and this is how y’all are treating him right now??? i understand not liking the song but this is all too far. +
— jaz 樂✰ (@flo_withskz) January 31, 2024
Beomhan finally debuted on his own and y’all are so fucking mean. At least he did something unlike y’all. He did it with his own money and y’all can barley afford toilet paper.
— ⓘ this user is +ㅅ- free Palestine 🇵🇸 (@pendeja4bts) January 31, 2024
It’s all “mental health matters” until it’s someone who’s funded their entire debut themself so ofc it isn’t going to be perfect and then it’s okay to throw hate around, even after he’s been so open about his mental health struggles, people suck, Beomhan deserves better
— 𝒾𝓋𝓎 ୨୧∞⁸ 🌅 (@chishiyabiscuit) February 2, 2024
the song wasn't upto the expectations we've been holding onto for a long time, but that doesn't give his 'fans' a reason to hate on something he worked really hard for. and its always the 'mental health matters' ones. i feel terrible for beomhan i really hope hes okay https://t.co/1M4gL5yxyp
— em is a 樂-STAR 🍉 (@lmhlvvr) February 1, 2024
While we admit that the song wasn’t really that great and up to our tastes, we still applaud Beomhan for his amazing efforts to fulfill his dream on his own—and without a bad company behind him!
And to be honest? K-Pop stans can truly be some of the most vile things on the Internet nowadays.
