Enrique Gil confirmed in an interview with ABS-CBN’s Gretchen Fullido on February 1 that he and his long-term girlfriend, Liza Soberano were still together.
The actor dismissed the rumors about their split, which initially surfaced in May 2023, following claims made by Liza’s former talent manager, Ogie Diaz. As Diaz mentioned Liza’s desire to pursue her Hollywood career was the cause of the alleged separation.
When questioned about his Valentine’s Day plans, the 31-year-old actor announced that he’ll be spending it with his mother, as Liza will be in the US promoting Lisa Frankenstein.
However, he affirmed that he and Liza are happy. “We’re just really busy,” he stated.
He also stressed that they both understand the importance of pursuing personal growth and experiences, which has benefited their relationship.
Lizquen fans were delighted and breathed a sigh of relief after hearing this news.
Some also commended the couple for maintaining a private and healthy relationship.
Liza was caught in controversy last year as she tried to navigate and take control of her own career. However, she clarified that she was misunderstood when she said that she also wanted to be known as “Hope.” She wanted to show the public that there are two sides to herself — as Liza and as Hope.
The actress is going to have her international film debut in “Lisa Frankenstein,” which will premiere on February 9th. On the other hand Enrique is working on his showbiz comeback project, “I Am Not Big Bird,” which will be released on February 14.
