The 42nd Agora Awards is poised to illuminate Taguig City as a beacon of Filipino marketing excellence at the Shangri-La Ballroom in Bonifacio Global City. This celebration of marketing prowess promises an evening of recognition, inspiration, and a showcase of the industry’s finest.
Initiated by the Philippine Marketing Association (PMA) in 1979, the Agora Awards stands as a testament to the remarkable achievements of individuals and companies shaping the marketing profession. Over its illustrious 42-season journey, the awards program has dynamically evolved, embracing new categories, and recognizing the vital role of entrepreneurs in contributing to economic growth.
This edition of the awards, refined by Agora Awards Chairman Law Sibayan, introduces two main categories—Luminaries and Enterprise. In the Luminaries category, awards are presented to individuals demonstrating outstanding performance in education, entrepreneurship, communication, international trade, management, and innovation through effective marketing tools and strategies. Notable awards include Outstanding Achievement in Marketing Education, Entrepreneurship (for small, medium, and large-scale enterprises), Marketing Communication, Overseas Marketing, and Marketing Management.
Conversely, the Enterprise category recognizes organizations exhibiting exemplary performance in marketing practices over the past three years. These awards acknowledge high-performing companies dedicated to connecting with markets and capitalizing on opportunities for steady revenue growth, strong returns, and sustainability.
A highlight of this year’s Agora Awards is the introduction of two new categories—the Marketing School of the Year and the Marketing Agency of the Year under the Enterprise category. Unlike traditional lifetime awards, these can be won by the same person and school each year, reflecting the dynamic nature of the industry.
PMA President Sy Bryan Lato, CPM Asia, underscores the significance of these new awards, aligning with PMA’s vision of producing world-class marketers and recognizing agencies’ contributions to companies’ growth.
Considered one of the most coveted honors in marketing, winning an Agora Award involves a meticulous vetting process that focuses on excellence. Agora Awards Director Alexis Revilla highlights the value of the awards in helping marketers learn about best practices and scrutinizing the execution and impact of marketing efforts on businesses.
Distinctively, the Agora Awards does not impose nomination fees. Nominees must adhere to strict criteria and qualifications, with a rigorous screening process, elimination of potential biases, and a final judging session where confidentiality is maintained until the awarding ceremony.
This year’s Agora Awards theme draws inspiration from the gemstone jasper. Sibayan explains, “The awardees go beyond the ordinary and stand out in a remarkable way. Just as the speckles in the jasper disrupt uniformity, we embrace outstanding performance.”
As the 42nd Agora Awards unfolds, the PMA proudly welcomes The 42nd Agora Awardees into the illustrious community of previous winners. Each passing year sees the symbolic torch passed, its flames of excellence illuminating the path for current and future Marketing Professionals.
Through the decades, The Agora Awards have consistently highlighted and rewarded Filipino ingenuity and innovation in the field of Marketing. As it reaches its 70th year, The PMA looks forward to persistently championing The Agora Awards as a platform serving the marketing profession and the Filipino people.
