TikTok star behind “Cooking with Lynja,” Lynn Yamada Davis has passed away at the age of 67.
Her son, Tim Davis, who is responsible for editing her videos, announced her death in a video posted on TikTok last Friday.
“I’m super sad to inform you that unfortunately, Lynja, my mom, has passed away. Her final moments were super peaceful and thankfully she was surrounded by the people she loved most, her friends and family,” he stated in the video.
He then proceeded by showing a compilation of pictures of his mom to honor her memory.

Fans took to the comment section to share their deepest condolences.
Davis has now reached over 17 million followers on the platform for her cooking videos that showcase her dancing, making funny expressions, and accompanying her instructions with explosive special effects.
The content creator was diagnosed with throat cancer in 2019 that changed the sound of her voice and was then diagnosed with esophageal cancer in 2021.
She was known for her hilarious and over-the-top cooking videos on TikTok, Instagram, and Youtube that began during the height of the pandemic.
Davis’ son who is also her videographer asked her to join a month-long project to record a video every day in the early days of the pandemic but as the lockdown progressed, they continued to create cooking videos for YouTube and eventually expanded their reach to TikTok.
Before her social media stardom, she had a career as an engineer. After attending Massachusetts Institute of Technology for her undergraduate degree, she worked for the federal government to make federal buildings accessible. She acquired her MBA and MPH degrees at Columbia University before working at AT&T Labs.
