Content creator riles the internet with in-flight cooking stunt using six-volt batteries

A plane passenger has captured people’s attention with his recent “in-flight experiment.”

The US-based content creator, who goes by the name ‘Barfly,’ took TikTok by storm in the past few weeks with crafty clips demonstrating how he performs his makeshift meal preparations.

In one of his most recent posts, he left viewers in shock by using two six-volt batteries while boarding an airplane to prepare a meal in the common restroom.

He took out the diaper changing table to use as his work surface and then proceeded to cook the shrimp in the water, removed them, and placed them on paper towels.

The content creator then added the dried mashed potato mix into the water, and when it was cooked, he placed it in one of the Ziplock bags before returning to his seat to eat the snack he made.

@barfly7777 With 2 6v batteries wired in series to an immersion beverage heater, one is able to get water scalding hot quickly. Raw shrimp will only need a few minutes. Adding instant mash to the shrimp water adds some extra flavor. Some viewers were not amused by the stunt that he pulled and took to the comment section to air their frustrations.

One user wrote, “It worries me none of the comments are about the potential millions of germs in that sink.”

Another user wrote, “There’s no way you actually were able to do this… this is absolutely disgusting. People shit and vomit in those sinks AND THEYRE NOT CLEANED!”

One user emphasized their concern for those who have shellfish allergies and wrote, “there are people with shellfish allergies who could die from you doing this on an airplane”

According to the rules on the TSA website, it states that “Spare (uninstalled) lithium ion and lithium metal batteries, including power banks and cell phone battery charging cases, must be carried in carry-on baggage only. With airline approval, passengers may also carry up to two spare larger lithium-ion batteries or lithium metal batteries.”

This is not the first case in which Barfly made headlines as he previously shared a series of horrid bathroom cooking videos that film his attempts in making baby back ribs by just using a hair dryer and sous vide-ing the steak in a toilet.
