Warner Music Philippines unveils remarkable compilation album in celebration of 30th year in the industry

Warner Music Philippines, one of the country’s biggest record labels is celebrating their 30th year in the industry with an extravagant compilation, featuring a star-studded lineup of their own signed and managed talented artists, showcasing the diverse and vibrant music scene of today.

Before this project came to life and earlier this year, the label kicked off ‘We Play Here’, which is a series of live performances and events to bring fans as well as local and international artists even closer together. Its success was evident because the kick-off ‘We Play Here’ event held at Samsung Hall at SM Aura last April 27 headlined by Felip, Dilaw, Lola Amour, Leanne & Naara and more was joined and well-loved by lots of OPM fans.

Now in their 30th year, Warner Music PH’s dedication to supporting local talent has been stronger than ever. The renowned record label has curated an extraordinary musical experience by reviving some of the strongest hits on their catalog and making it a monumental compilation album, aptly titled ‘Warner 30th

To celebrate the release of these reimagined popular songs from the past decades, an upcoming milestone event is happening this December to guarantee to bring a one-of-a-kind, high-energy live music experience that’s truly unforgettable for everyone.

The ‘Warner 30th’ Compilation launch is to take place on December 8, 2023 at Balcony Music House in Makati. Audiences can look forward to electrifying performances by the label’s commendable artist roster: Lola Amour, Dilaw, Jason Dhakal, Rangel, and Jireh Lim.

Below is the list of the most sought-after artists signed under Warner Music Philippines who joined the powerful compilation album:

Arthur Miguel, has been part of the Top 10 Spotify daily charts this year with his smash hit “LIhim”. His soothing vocals earned a surge of streams and  numerous Spotify playlists such as Hot Hits Philippines, Tatak Pinoy, Viral Hits Philippines, and many more. For this compilation album, he made a rendition of “Your Universe” by Rico Blanco.

A rising singer-songwriter, Noah Alejandre’s music speaks of the struggles and experiences of youngsters. His music is heartfelt, honest, and raw, evident in his singles “Nahuhulog Na Sa’yo”, “Entablado”, and “Di Man Tinadhana”. For the record label’s anniversary, he mesmerized everyone with his own version of Rico Blanco’s “Antukin”

Also, part of this big event are Cliff and Reanne Borella for their own refreshing rendition of Nina’s hit song “Jealous”.  Cliff is the most streamed artist in Eastern Visayas and a highly sought-after artist from Ormoc City, Leyte. He peaked at 950,000+ Monthly Listeners on Spotify for “Sunsets With You” which placed in several Spotify editorials and became hit trend in Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia and with over 31 million streams to date. Reanne, also a singer-songwriter from Leyte, gained recognition after winning Philpop 2020 with their bilingual single “Suyo” as one half of the indie pop duo, reon. Now she’s pursuing her career as a solo artist under Warner Music Philippines.

A true artist and performer since childhood, Rangel joined local talent competitions, learned to play the guitar and uploaded her first original song to Soundcloud in 2016. Her popularity rose further after being part of noontime show Eat Bulaga. She was part of Music Hero, a now disbanded pop-rock group that popularized a song she wrote — “KLWKN”. Since going solo and joining Warner Music Philippines, she has released “Hanggang Saan”, “DIKA”, “Babalik”, plus her own version of Kitchie Nadal’s hit, “Same Ground”.

Born into a family closely tied to music, jikamarie first made headlines for her track “lutang” which reached #22 on the Spotify Daily Chart. More releases followed with “Kailangan ko ng…” “KISLAP”, “the sun is you”, “HALIMAW”, and even collaborated with JRLDM and Jireh Lim. She brings good vibes with her own take on “Bulong” by Kitchie Nadal. To date, she is gearing up for her first debut album.

The talented contemporary queer R&B singer-songwriter Jason Dhakal is also part of the mix. His spectacular and refreshing revival of Sitti’s “Para Sa Akin” has taken the track to the top 50 on Spotify’s Daily Chart. Jason  marked his breakthrough with his critically-acclaimed debut EP ‘Night In’ in 2018 which saw collaboration tracks with Jess Connelly and dot.jaime. In 2020 he released ‘lovesound’ co-produced by celebrated local composer LUSTBASS. Jason also did a collaboration with Arthur Nery on “Happy w u” and was part of various local festivals Fête de la Musique, All Of The Noise, and Double Happiness by 88rising.

JRLDM who dropped notable singles “Patiwakal”, followed by “PARASITIKO” just teamed up with Party Pace, ASTRO, and Slimm in his refreshing R&B-Hip-hop version of “Laklak” popularized by rock band Teeth. His artist name is a stylized iteration of “Jerald-Damn”.

P-Pop Group 1st.One is also part of the celebration, crafting a poppy and danceable version of the hit song “Your Love” by Alamid.

“Chinelas”, one of Kamikazee’s earlier hits, was also given a total makeover from one of the most sought-after bands this year, Baguio’s pride Dilaw. The band teamed up with AsianCutie to create the track. The band went viral this year for their breakout song, “Uhaw (Tayong Lahat) with now over 124 million Spotify streams and millions of engagements on TikTok. The track won Best Alternative Recording, Best Performance by a Group Recording Artist, Song of the Year, and Record of the Year at the 36th Awit Awards in November 2023.

Born and raised in Davao, Paul Pablo rose to popularity with songs like “Bangin”, “Kalawakan” and “Kaya”. He did a remarkable spin on Rico Blanco’s 2008 comeback single “Yugto.” His fresh take on OPM and the impressive LGBTQ representation is proves to be changing the game in the Philippines Music Industry. 

FELIP surprised everyone with an acoustic guitar-driven version of “Moving Closer” which was originally performed by Never The Strangers off their 2012 self-titled album. The P-Pop soloist dropped his debut EP COM•PLEX this year and it was loaded with hip-hop, R&B, and trap music. His single “ROCKSTA” now has almost 3 million streams on Spotify.

Up-and-coming artist Nicole Anjela collaborated with Josh Dutch and did a soothing version of “So Blue” originally performed by Sinosikat?

Rising six-piece folk-pop band Sugarcane is also part of the compilation record, doing a captivating revival of “Set You Free,” one of the most popular songs from Side A. The band, who has over 2.3 million monthly listeners on Spotify has eight original songs in the millions of streams on the said platform. Their most popular song “Leonora” now has over 40.6 million streams. Their song “Paruparo” has been nominated for Song of the Year, Best Alternative Recording, and Best Collaboration in Awit Awards 2023.

Lastly, “Raining in Manila” hitmaker Lola Amour is part of the mix. The band, now with over 4.7 million Spotify monthly listeners is 2023’s breakthrough artist. For the record label’s 30th year anniversary, they did a refreshing take on Kitchie Nadal’s “Huwag Na Huwag Mong Sasabihin” which exploded during the early 2000s.
