The University of the Philippines Geodetic Engineering Club (UP GE Club) is set to celebrate its remarkable 86th Anniversary this year. As the situation starts to come back to normal, the UP GE Club will conduct a week-long roster of events set to achieve greater heights. This year also marks the return of the organization’s bejeweled quiz show and art competition to a face-to-face setting. As the torchbearer of excellence in the field of Geodetic Engineering, UP GE Club is thrilled to present “Synthetica x Synesthesia: Geoid Quiz x Earthistic.”
After a three year break from pursuing greatness in-person, the Geoid Quiz and Earthistic are back on the ground. The Geoid Quiz, a riveting academic showdown, is set to unleash the unbridled wit and intellect of junior and senior high school students and their dedicated team’s coaches from across the nation. Meanwhile, the Earthistic is a poster-making contest showcasing the artistry of high school students that helps raise awareness for the field of Geodetic Engineering and its opportunities. This year, its theme revolves around the merging of human and Artificial Intelligence perception in the field of Geomatics. Both Geoid Quiz and Earthistic are more than just competitions; they are a celebration of the Geodetic Engineering profession and an opportunity for students to shine on a national stage.
On November 11, 2023, these sister events will commence physically in the University of the Philippines Diliman, and the thrill of face-to-face competition will reverberate through the air. Participants will clash head-on into the Geoid Quiz, putting their knowledge to the test and competing with unwavering determination. Simultaneously, Earthistic contestants will transform their artistic visions into reality right on the spot, in digital and traditional medium. Winners will be crowned on the very same day, making this anniversary celebration a truly unforgettable experience.
