After a 5-year hiatus that culminated on a ‘death hoax,’ Lil Tay is back with a new song

After a five-year hiatus, Lil Tay finally released a new pop single.

The single was released alongside a music video that has 5 million views on YouTube as of the time of writing. She also held an Instagram live explaining her inactivity for the last five years.

A month after her death hoax, she shared a teaser of the music video for her new song “Sucker 4 Green.”

“I’m back. I’m exposing everyone. I’ve been waiting for this moment for years, studying my own craft and perfecting it along the way,” she said to her fans.

She explained that while she was gaining fame five years ago, her “abusive absentee father” returned to “take control over my career and money.” She mentioned that he initiated a legal case to silence her and gain control over her finances.

In addition, she accused her father of “inappropriate sexual behavior,” asserting that he frequently brought home random women and engaged in sexual activities with them in front of her.

She also took the opportunity to address rumors that have been circulating.

The rapper clarified that her mother, Angela Tian, was not fired but only resigned from her job as a real estate agent. She also said that she never had a manager and anyone who claimed to be one is “con artists exploiting my name for clout and industry credit.”

She went on by accusing her father of conspiring with a fake manager to plan her death hoax in order to promote a crypto coin. “Their plan was to fake my death and then promote the crypto coin, which by the way, the ‘manager’ admitted to,” the rapper said without elaborating.

She then ended her livestream by acknowledging her mother’s constant support, saying, “She’s been there for me my entire life and we have both been abused by Christopher John Hope, my abusive absentee father. He is not the f–cking good guy here. He wanted control over my career and my money. I and my family had to go through even more years of abuse through the court system because of him.”
