At last, Swifties, the “1989 (Taylor’s Version)” will be officially out of the woods soon!
In case you missed it: Taylor Swift has been making Swifties feel nostalgic as the music industry is about to drop her new spin on her old album “1989.”
“1989” is Taylor’s fifth album that saw her full transition from her classic country style to pop music. The album spawned a lot of Taylor’s best hits, including “Shake It Off,” “Style,” “Blank Space,” and “Wildest Dreams,” among others.
The album has garnered critical reception which earned her several nominations and accolades, including Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album at the 2016 Grammy Awards. Many regarded Taylor and “1989” as among the game-changers that heavily influenced the future of mainstream pop.
Now, she’s bound to break more records and charts with the much-anticipated release of “1989 (Taylor’s Version).” And here’s everything we know so far about the new soundtrack that Swifties could dance to its beat.
‘1989 (Taylor’s Version)’ will be released on October 27, 2023
Taylor revealed that her re-recorded version of “1989” will be released to the public on October 27, 2023—the same day the original album was released.
The announcement was made by the global pop superstar during the last day of the United States leg of her global-dominating “The Eras Tour.”
“There’s something that I’ve been planning for a really, really, really ridiculously, embarrassingly long time, and instead of telling you about it, I think I’ll just sort of show you,” she said, revealing the album’s cover art and release date.

She then took to her social media accounts to announce the arrival of “1989 (Taylor’s Version),” saying that it’s her “most favorite re-record I’ve ever done.”
“The 1989 album changed my life in countless ways, and it fills me with such excitement to announce that my version of it will be out October 27th,” Taylor stated.

“To be perfectly honest, this is my most favorite re-record I’ve ever done because the 5 ‘From the Vault’ tracks are so insane. I can’t believe they were ever left behind. But not for long!” she continued.
Prior to the official announcement, Taylor had been teasing the release of “1989 (Taylor’s Version).” The “Love Story” singer first released the Taylor’s Version of “Wildest Dreams” in 2021, followed by ”This Love (Taylor’s Version)” in 2022.
She continued to tease the re-recorded album after she dropped more Easter eggs in the music video for “I Can See You,” one of the vault tracks from “Speak Now (Taylor’s Version).”
There will be five “From the Vault” tracks on ‘1989 (Taylor’s Version)’
Just like the first three re-recorded versions of her albums that were released, “1989 (Taylor’s Version)” also features five never-before-heard songs known as “From the Vault,” in addition to the 16 songs from the earlier version.
Taylor revealed the five vault track titles through a 1989-themed word scramble. This sent Swifties into a frenzy as Taylor requires 33 million solutions worldwide for the vault tracks to be unveiled.
“You can tell me when the *search* is over…if the high was worth the pain,” Swift wrote in an Instagram post that featured a video of a shimmering blue vault.

Taking to Instagram, the global pop superstar unveiled the back cover art of the album, alongside the five vault tracks.
Among the songs that will be heard for the first time are “Is It Over Now?,” “Now That We Don’t Talk,” “Say Don’t Go,” “Suburban Legends,” and “Slut!”
Taylor then expressed her gratitude to her fans for joining in on the fun of solving her puzzles.

“It’s a new soundtrack… I can’t wait for this one to be out, seriously. Thank you for playing along, sleuthing, puzzling, and making these reveals so much chaotic fun (which is the best kind of fun, after all),” she wrote.
While Swifties theorized that the vault tracks could feature duets with Harry Styles, who is believed to be an inspiration for several songs on the album, and Selena Gomez, unfortunately, no featured artists were announced nor confirmed by the multi-award winning artist.
Other than the vault tracks, it is reported that one bonus track is also featured in the Target exclusive vinyl of the “1989 (Taylor’s Version).”

This is the first track Taylor has released from “reputation (Taylor’s Version).”
And of course, we’ll never know what move Taylor is going to make seeing how unpredictable she is. But one thing is for sure: she’ll keep Swifties guessing and on their toes for what’s next because she is, after all, a “Mastermind.”
