Nadine Lustre wins her second FAMAS ‘Best Actress’ award with ‘Greed’

Nadine Lustre won her second ‘Best Actress’ award in the Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences (FAMAS) during its 71st-anniversary edition for her role in VivaMax’s “Greed.”

“Isang malaking karangalan po para sa bumubuo ng “Greed” at ng “Deleter” na mapasama po sa mga nominated ngayong gabi, pero isang malaking karangalan rin po na magkaroon nito (pertaining to the ‘Best Actress’ award), maraming salamat po,” Lustre said during her acceptance speech at the event that was held last Sunday, August 13.

The suspense-drama film by Yam Laranas is one of the two projects Lustre has been part of that was nominated in the award-giving body – the other one being Mikhail Red’s “Deleter,” which was released as an entry to the 2022 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).

Lustre continued her acceptance speech by dedicating the award to her supporters, “Gusto ko po ‘tong i-dedicate sa lahat po ng nagmamahal at sumusuporta po sa akin – sa buong pamilya ko po, sa partner ko, sa friends ko, my team, sa bumubuo po ng “Greed,” and of course to my Viva family,” she said.

She also expressed her gratitude toward Laranas, “Maraming-maraming salamat po for trusting in me, for pushing me, and for giving me this opportunity to do “Greed”.”

This marks Lustre’s second FAMAS ‘Best Actress’ award after winning in 2019 for “Never Not Love You,” and her fourth nomination in the said category, including her role in 2015’s “Para sa Hopeless Romantic” and 2019’s “Ulan” – which won her ‘Best Actress’ in Gawad Urian last 2020.

“Greed” is a film about a young couple Kichi (Lustre) and Tomi (Diego Loyzaga) who won the lottery and planned to move to a different town in secret, however, a former neighbor (Epy Quizon) found out about their win and tried to steal the winning ticket from them.
