American singer-songwriter Olivia Rodrigo started an easter egg hunt for fans in a cryptic video she released on July 31, teasing the tracklist for her much awaited album “Guts.”
The minute-long video presents an overhead view of the 20-year-old in her bedroom scattered with alleged clues on the album’s song titles. She is seen doing all sorts of things, from lounging around, making her bed, to unpacking boxes. The latter part shows Rodrigo clicking away on a typewriter before the shot zeros in on the words she typed, “GUTS tracklist.” The end of the clip teases a snippet of an unreleased song playing in the background, speculated to be part of the new album.
Eagle-eyed fans did not miss this chance to unleash their “detective skills” and figure out what the pop star is hinting at. Several words and phrases noticeably littered the bedroom which, fans conclude, could be possible track titles, filling the comments section with various speculations.
The most obvious hint was the typewriter that had purple gems over the letters that spelled the album’s title, possibly hinting at a titular track. Other hints include “obsessed!” embellished in red on a sweater, the words “bad idea right” which she wrote on a mirror with lipstick, and “stranger” written on music sheets. “Book club” was clearly printed on a yearbook that sprawled on the bed.
While some words were even more challenging to decipher, such as the words seemingly scribbled on the skateboard and on the chair, fans were eager to crack the codes regardless.

Fellow artists also shared their anticipation about the teaser video. Conan Gray wrote, “my brain is going ahhh ur right,” a reference to the song she sang in the clip. Camila Cabello added a wild “ONG OMGOMF.”
Rodrigo first dropped announcements of her sophomore album in June, saying that it focuses on “growing pains and trying to figure out who I am at this point in my life.”
“Guts” is set to be released on September 8.
