‘The Marvels’ movie considering delayed release due to ongoing strikes

Amid the hype and anticipation for ‘The Marvels,’ it seems like its release date might be delayed.

According to a Disney insider that Bloomberg sourced, the production company seems to push back on their 2023 release dates due to the ongoing strikes of the Writers’ Guild of America (WGA) and the Screen Actors’ Guild – American Federation of Television and Radio Artists.

The inability to promote material upon the said unions’ request is one of the causes of further delay of release. However, others have suggested that ‘The Marvels’ might still be up for a November release if marketing has already progressed. Disney and Marvel Studios have yet to address their decision on the matter.

‘The Marvels’ has been recently reported as a sequel to 5 Marvel Cinematic Universe material. They consist of films Captain Marvel’ (2019) and ‘Avengers: Endgame’ (2019), and the Disney+ originals ‘WandaVision’ (2021), ‘Ms. Marvel’ (2022), and the recently-concluded ‘Secret Invasion’ (2023).

Brie Larson, Teyonah Parris, and Iman Vellani will reprise their roles as the core trio consists of Carol Danvers a.k.a. Captain Marvel, Monica Rambeau a.k.a. Photon, and Kamala Khan a.k.a. Ms. Marvel. After ‘Secret Invasion’, Samuel L. Jackson is set to reprise his role as Nick Fury for the 12th time. Starring alongside are Park Seo-Joon as Noh-Varr and Zawe Ashton as the villain Dar-Benn.

‘The Marvels’ is originally slated for release in November, unless plans of delays are pushed through.
