Intra Productions, a student-run film production from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines Manila (PUP), has produced “Ang Mga Katawang Wala Sa Ayos”, a queer film, as part of its first-ever PUP Gender Creativity Festival.
Ang Mga Katawang Wala sa Ayos is a psychological thriller film that follows the polyamorous relationship of three sapphic women who are navigating the challenges of their complex dynamics while living under the same roof. As they struggle through their grim situation, they are forced to confront their own distortions.
The film, through the story of its three queer characters, explores a creative telling of queer women’s battle for space, safety, and peace, even in their own homes and minds. It depicts distortions brought about by their identities within a patriarchal and condemning society. It aims to evoke the audience’s thoughts on how much this treatment towards queer people takes up space in their lives.
PUP Gender Creativity Festival is a week-long event that serves as a week of empowerment, celebrating equality, and promoting genuine safe spaces for the Broadcast Communication communities; allowing them to use their strengths and discover new ways to support and achieve its goal.
Presenting this film at the College Of Communication-Wide Gender Creativity Festival, Ang Mga Katawang Wala Sa Ayos is open to communication students as a contribution to a more inclusive media landscape.
Ang Mga Katawang Wala Sa Ayos, among other films, is set to air on July 24-27, 2023, within the premises of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines. It will also be made available on Intra Productions’ Facebook page, PUP Gender Creativity Fest Facebook page, and Twitter.
