Another record has been broken in the K-Pop music industry!
Talent agency YG PLUS announced that boy group SEVENTEEN had sold over 6.2 million copies of their latest album FML.
The group achieved the said number of album sales following its release two months ago. They are now considered to be the first act in K-pop history to achieve that feat in a single album.
This is not the first time that the FML album broke a record. In just a week after its release (week of April 24 to 30), they are able to sell 4.5 million copies – the first album in K-pop history to surpass 4 million. They are also able to surpass what the group BTS held when the latter released their 2020 album Map Of The Soul: 7 (3.3 million copies sold in the first week of release).
The album also got the highest-ranking entry in the Billboard 200 chart – debuting at the No. 2 spot. The album is considered the 5th overall entry in the chart following their early albums Attacca (2021), Your Choice (2021), SECTOR 17 (2022), and Face The Sun (2022).
Congratulations to SEVENTEEN for achieving another milestone! And a big thanks to the CARATS out there!
