8-member K-Pop group Stray Kids has confirmed their anticipated comeback with the full-length album, 5-STAR, which is set to be released on June 2, 1 PM-KST.
The announcement came from a trailer posted by their agency, JYP Entertainment, with the members introducing themselves in a game of ‘I am Ground’, a Korean ice-breaker game.
On April 24, JYP Entertainment confirmed that the group was preparing for an early June comeback as the group finished filming their new music video earlier in March.
It is set to be the group’s first comeback since their seventh mini album, ‘MAXIDENT’, released in October last year, and their first full-length album since ‘Noeasy’ in August 2021.
Last year, the group reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart twice with their EPs ‘Oddinary’ and ‘MAXIDENT’, making its debut at #4 and #10, respectively, on the 2022 Billboard World Albums Year-End Chart – the only artist with multiple albums on the chart released that year.
Stray Kids also managed to sell over 3 million copies of their EP, ‘MAXIDENT’, based on the figure from Circle Chart, making them the first artist in their agency to do so.
They recently returned from their second world tour, Maniac, in which it grossed $71.5 million from the 776,000 tickets sold in 42 concerts in 18 countries around the world.
STAYs (the group’s fandom name), can’t hide their excitement and are expressing it all over the internet:
