The City of Stars shines brighter than ever before as the annual Youth Empowerment Summit is set to happen this March 10, 2023, at the Bahay ng Alumni, UP Diliman. A star-studded event of the Rotary International District 3780 hosted by the Rotaract Club of Midtown Diliman.
YES 2023 aims to inspire participants to be long-term and high impact changemakers by conducting critical analyses of pressing issues affecting marginalized groups and demonstrating how youth, particularly Rotaract leaders, can use their unique skills and positions in life to create innovative solutions.
At this critical juncture, the Filipino youth are at a crossroads of misinformation, fear, and doubt. The great age of information has ironically placed the youth at its mercy, leaving behind undiscerning and, worse, disempowered young people. YES, has always been successful in creating an ideal environment for the youth, inspiring them to develop and become leaders who make a difference in people’s lives.
Speakers like 14th Vice President Leni Robredo and Atty. Jose “Chel” Diokno were the first ones to accept the invitation. It was then followed by the Atty. Alexander Lacson, Congressman Raoul Manuel, Senator Risa Hontiveros and Award-winning Journalist Atom Araullo who had the same perspective on urging the youth in creating impact as imaginative leaders of the future.
“With the experience and wisdom that these brilliant speakers are willing to share with us youth, I hope that this event ignites a fire in each of our hearts to unrelentingly serve the community.” Says Faye Regine Ng, Foundation Service Director of the Rotaract Club of Batasan Hills.
Rotaract Club of Metro SFDM, Rotaract Club of Batasan Hills, Rotaract Club of Greater Loyola Heights, Rotaract Club of Greenfields QC, Rotaract Club of Holy Spirit, Rotaract Club of Lagro Ascension, and Rotaract Club of Paraiso serves as the co-host and program’s working committee of the event. The district is confident that the clubs’ cooperation will be critical to the event’s success.
The event is still open for registration and the youth are encouraged to join. Register through this link. (MJB)
