Korean star Lee Je-hoon had some pretty interesting revelations during his Manila press event

On Thursday, the veteran Korean actor Lee Je-hoon held a press conference at Shangri-La The Fort ahead of his fan meeting on March 3. Lee, who made his acting debut in independent and short films and got critical acclaim for his 2010 indie film “Bleak Night,” gamely answered questions thrown at him by the local media.

The private press conference was broadcasted live on Viu Philippines’ Facebook page, where fans also took part virtually by asking questions in the chat box.

The short face-to-face with the local media started with the actor sharing how he arrived at the airport at 1:30 in the morning and was greatly surprised to still be welcomed by a lot of fans at the airport.

In an almost hour long meeting with the press, various topics and questions were discussed. He revealed that he likes to try Filipino dishes like Adobo and Sinigang. He also shared that if given a chance, he would want to visit Manila Bay and Coron. He answered further questions about what was his most memorable role so far, how he decided which cameo roles he would take on, his friendship with actor and actress Namgoong Min, Park Eun-bin, and many more. The hallyu star also talked about his character, Kim Do-gi, from “Taxi Driver.” Some comments left by the fans in the live stream were also picked by the staff to be answered by the actor himself.

As someone who’s into philanthropy, Lee apparently visited the Philippines before, making his upcoming fanmeet event his second time here. He revealed that he previously went to Palawan to take part in relief operations to support victims of the typhoon tragedy.

The “Taxi Driver” actor was also asked if there was any scenario wherein he wanted to get revenge on someone. He said there was none, but if in any bizarre case there’s someone that everyone in the world universally loathes (or has to kill), he will take that revenge himself. This statement elicited laughter in the room.

Interestingly, he thinks that “Signal,” a highly acclaimed 2016 drama in which he played a criminal profiler, will have a second season. Wearing a semi serious face that ended up in a laugh and a nose scrunch, he said he will keep texting the writer/s (perhaps to ask) when Season 2 is going to start.

He was also asked if there was any other genre, concept, or role he had yet to take on and would love to explore in the future, to which he replied by listing down some interesting picks such as lawyer or a doctor, particularly roles in the professional field.

Lee also playfully asked a reporter what favorite movie or drama they liked. Someone blurted out the film “Kill Bill,” directed by Quentin Tarantino, and to everyone’s surprise, the actor claimed that the movie was his personal favorite and that he would in fact love to audition for and star in the 3rd volume, if there ever will be.

He briefly mentioned that he wants to audition for “Squid Game,” which he heard was gearing up for its 2nd installment. But, his schedule is already full to the brim. According to him, if he were to take a role in this critically acclaimed survival drama, he could only portray someone who will die in the first few episodes, which made the press laugh in unison.

Lee Je-hoon arrived in Manila for his fanmeeting titled “VACATION: Lee Je-hoon Fan Meet in Manila,” happening on March 3, Friday, at the New Frontier Theater. This event is presented by Live Nation Philippines.
