We can all now say, “Thank Ru, next” as pop superstar Ariana Grande is heading back to RuPaul’s Drag Race as a guest judge on the show’s season 15.
On December 15, the official social media accounts of the Emmy-winning reality program RuPaul’s Drag Race surprised the viewers and fans with a special ru-nnouncement. In their post, the show announced that the “Dangerous Woman” singer is sashaying her way back to RuPaul’s Drag Race season 15 as a guest judge on the premiere episode of the show.
“Season 15 is here, and so am I,” Grande said in a 15-second promo.
The multi-award-winning artist also took to Instagram to share her excitement as she returned to the show’s judges’ panel.
“I’m not sure who this brown-haired/eyebrowed/cone-tittied woman is, but she is very excited to be guest-judging the season 15 premiere of RuPaul’s Drag Race,” Grande wrote. “Heart bursting. RuPaul, I love you.”
Grande isn’t the only one whose heart was bursting from the news. Her fans were also reeling with excitement to see her back in the show.

This is the second time that Grande has accompanied RuPaul, Michelle Visage, and Ross Mathews on the show’s judges panel. The singer first appeared on RuPaul’s Drag Race season 7 back in 2015. Grande’s songs have also been used in the show during the contestants’ lip sync battles, including “Break Free” on season 7, “Greedy” on season 9, “Bang Bang (with Jessie J and Nicki Minaj)” on season 10, and “Problem (feat. Iggy Azalea)” on season 12, among others.
Other than Grande, many singers have also graced RuPaul’s Drag Race stage and werkroom since its ninth season, such as Lady Gaga, Christina Aguilera, Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato, Lizzo, and Nicki Minaj.
RuPaul’s Drag Race season 15 was first announced on December 14 by the American production World of Wonder. This season has set its largest cast in the entire herstory of the show, with 16 drag artists entering the werkroom and showing their charisma, uniqueness, nerve, and talent. Its supersized cast includes Aura Mayari, the latest Filipino drag queen to compete in RuPaul’s Drag Race, twins Sugar and Spice, and the iconic Sasha Colby.
RuPaul’s Drag Race season 15 is set to premiere on January 6 on MTV.
