WATCH: Pooh Bear is out to ruin your childhood in the first ‘Blood and Honey’ trailer

The trailer for the violent slasher film Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey has been released and shows a very spine-chilling side of the fluffy bear we know and love.

It shows a grown-up Christopher Robin returning to the 100 Acre Wood that he abandoned and is met by the bloodthirsty Pooh and Piglet as they are set to take revenge on him.

Later on, the trailer shows a group of five women in a vacation home getting attacked by ruthless aggressors, which seems to be the main part of the movie.

Rhys Waterfield, the writer/director of the film, told Variety in an interview that the gist of the story was that Pooh and Piglet returned to their animal instincts after Robin left them.

“The tubby little cubby all stuffed with fluff takes an extremely dark turn after being abandoned by a college-aged Christopher Robin because he and Piglet had to fend for themselves in Christopher’s absence and they’ve essentially become feral, so they’ve gone back to their animal roots and are no longer tame,” he said.

Such scenes were evident in the trailer as we see Pooh break Robin’s girlfriend’s neck and Piglet chase an unwanted guest and bashing their head with a sledgehammer.

The trailer also shows Eeyore’s tombstone and rumor has it that he was eaten by his friends.

The film was announced earlier this year by director Waterfield and Jagged Edge Productions who were behind the films The Curse of Humpty Dumpty and The Legend of Jack and Jill.

Filmmakers were given permission to use the name and story of Winnie the Pooh as Disney only owns the rights to the cartoon versions of the characters and the original A.A. Milne books have been made available to the public this year. So long as the movie does not include any elements invented by Disney, the film is a go.

As of now, Blood and Honey has yet to receive a release date.
