There is a new K-pop girl group in town, and a Filipina-Argentinian actress is going to be a part of it.
Chantal Videla is a former Filipina actress who was a part of the ABS-CBN’s Starmagic Circle Batch 2018. Chantal has starred in some Filipino TV shows such as Starla (2019-2020), and movies such as Familia Blondina (2019). Today, she takes a huge step further as she enters the growing world of the Hallyu Wave, or the Korean wave, as she is officially set to debut as part of the upcoming South Korean girl group, Lapillus.
The group, Lapillus, is set to represent the charming qualities of a gem that changes its color depending on how the light will reflect on it. The group will be under MLD entertainment which also homes the hitmaker girl group Momoland. Chantal was the last member to be unveiled on the group’s official Twitter account, where she will debut under the name of ‘Chanty’

Lapillus will consist of six members, Bessie, Yue, Seowon, Haeun, Shana, and Chanty, and together they aim to convey the message of ‘Shine you Lapillus’. As the group is consisting of young Gen Z stars, the gearing idol group is poised to present a sophisticated and elegant image, as they reveal to the public their fresh teaser images.
With more public exposure because of her career as a teen actress and singer, prior t their debut, Chanty has quickly gained a strong online presence and following upon the unveiling of her teaser images. Since then, fans’ anticipation and excitement for the girl group’s debut has risen as they can’t wait to witness the stunning visuals and vocals of Chanty.
Lapillus is MLD Entertainment’s first girl group in over six years after launching Momoland. The new girl group is set to debut on the 20th of June.
