UAAP Cheerdance is back and Twitter made sure to be in the front lines

After two years, the long-awaited UAAP Cheerdance competition finally made its comeback along with the infamous friendly reaction tweets among competing universities on Twitter.

The UAAP Cheerdance Competition is one of the most anticipated events during the annual UAAP season athletic year, where prominent universities in the Philippines will come together and showcase their own cheer dance routines and stunts, which aim for a historic podium finish.

While the annual seasons were withheld due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the UAAP season 84 just recently made its return along with the different sports events such as basketball, volleyball, and the cheer dance competition as well. And last Sunday afternoon, the Mall of Asia Arena were filled with roars and cheers as each university brought out the best of their stunt and routine game, with their respective cheerdances.

But more than the fans inside the arena, the people watching in the comfort of their own homes took the spotlight as they delivered the wittiest and funniest reactions to the competition:

Like how having an advanced congratulations to DLSU as they are not placing last this year!

And it looks like it’s another let’s just go for the next season for ADMU:

But don’t worry Ateneo! Your neighbor school, UP, is together with you, as fans are seemingly left disappointed with their routine:

I guess we’ll just cheer for you next time, BIG 4!

And the crowd’s favorites, which also landed the top three podium finish, NU, AdU, and FEU, weren’t spared from Twitter’s reactions either:

While the intense reactions and humor of the viewers and fans have made us laugh, let us not forget to congratulate all the competing schools this year for a job well done! Given the limited preparation time, participants, and restrictions due to the pandemic, all of the cheer dancers gave their best and delivered intricate and stunning routines. Truly, the UAAP Cheerdance Competition is one of the most highly anticipated events the country is always looking forward to.

The National University (NU) has placed 2nd runner up, Adamson University (AdU) has placed 1st runner up, and the Far Eastern University was crowned as this year’s cheerdance champion.
