Ateneo Gabay celebrates its 12th Scholars’ Week through ‘Tanglaw’

For 45 years, Ateneo Gabay has dedicated itself to supporting the scholar community of the  Ateneo De Manila University, and has continuously advocated for educational equity by serving  the needs of its partner schools. This April 18th until the 23rd, their mission continues as they  celebrate Tanglaw: The 12th Ateneo Scholars’ Week.

The Ateneo Scholars’ Week, one of Ateneo Gabay’s flagship projects, is a week-long celebration  of the gift of scholarship. SWeek, as it is fondly called, brings the Atenean scholar community  together through different events, activities, and inspiring talks from current and alumni scholars.  At its core, SWeek aims to provide an avenue for Atenean scholars to show appreciation for the  opportunities opened to them, realize their potential to pay this chance forward to those who  aspire to become like them, and get together to display the unwavering Atenean scholar spirit.

Now on its 12th iteration, SWeek’s vision centers around Tanglaw, or looking beyond. SWeek  12: Tanglaw hopes to give Atenean scholars, both current and aspiring, a wider perspective on  the impact they can make in the society at large, anchored with the values that the university  instills in its studentry. With the dream they hold and the passion they possess, their capability to  create a sustainable, lasting future is to be tapped and explored. More than the traditional events  focusing on scholarship appreciation and Atenean scholar pride, this year’s SWeek serves to go  all out by opening opportunities for harnessing their talents and envisioning a brighter tomorrow,  especially given these critical times.

SWeek 12 will be filled with both synchronous and asynchronous activities that will showcase  the talents and celebrate the friendships of the scholar community as it has done in the past.  However, the event did not fail to bring something new this year as it proudly presents Tanaw, a  webinar that aims to share the gift of scholarship to hopeful public high school students. With the  talk series bringing to light the diverse scholar community in Ateneo, it hopes to provide  inspiration that everyone has a chance to be an Atenean, as well as to encourage them to look  beyond the ambiguities and start recognizing the possibilities. Registration for interested Grades  10 and 11 students is still open until April 18 at bit.ly/TanawOpenRegistration

You can also pre-order the event’s merch until April 23 at bit.ly/SWeek12MerchPreOrder. All  funds will go to the event’s partner beneficiary, which will be unveiled soon, so do not miss your  chance to help!
