Crazy cat people, rejoice! There’s a new, weird way to bring yourself closer to your beloved felines.
When it comes to novelty items for pet care, the human race has come up with some really disturbing items. A few months back, the internet went bananas for LICKI brush — a silicone cat tongue you’re meant to use to groom your kitties so you can bond with them. It’s a project that started on Kickstarter and has been featured by several media outlets. Here’s what that looks like:
But for cat people who want feline-themed items for their own use, here’s the good news: now you can smell like a kitten’s neck!
A New-York based perfumery called Demeter Fragrance Library released “Kitten Fur”, a fragrance that promises to make you smell like warm and soft kitty cuddles even when you’re not with your pets. They wrote on their website:
“Cats. Love them or hate them. There is no in between. But everyone loves Kittens! Now after 15 years of effort, Demeter has captured the olfactory essence of the warmth and comfort of that purrfect spot, just behind a kitten’s neck. A fragrance that truly purrs. And so will anyone who experiences it.”
What exactly does a kitten neck smell like, though?
Some reviewers have compared it to “a mix between newborn baby, a freshly baked loaf of bread and the scent of home.” The scent is available as a cologne, roll-on perfume oil, body lotion, shower gel, and even as a diffuser oil. The price ranges from $6 t0 $39.50.
This kitty perfume isn’t the first unusual scent from Demeter Fragrance Library. They also have fragrances like Popcorn, Pistachio Ice Cream, Sex on the Beach (not so sure that’s a good smell to have in the office, though), and Fuzzy Balls (which supposedly smells like a freshly-opened can of tennis balls).
