27 unforgettable moments during the 65th Miss Universe pageant

It’s been 23 years since the Miss Universe pageant was held in the Philippines where Miss India, Sushmita Sen, took home the crown and became the first in her country to ever win the title. And last year, another queen was crowned and hailed as the most beautiful woman in the universe.

Here’s a rundown of what happened at the 65th Miss Universe pageant:

1. Flo Rida opened the show with a bang and the ladies from all over the world showed us what “confidently beautiful” looked like as they walk.

2. We also had major major 90s throwback with Boyz II Men!

3. Steve Harvey is back as the host of the show, and he’s well aware of what he did last time.

People were like: “Umayos ka, huy!”

4. We had a little throwback of Pia Wurtzbach’s coronation as Miss Universe 2015.

It was both painful and exciting to see again.

5. Queen Pia and Steve Harvey were reunited again!

Well, glad they’re both thankful. LOL

6. When Steve Harvey was announcing the Top 13, all of us we’re like:

Paano huminga, guys?!

7. It was indeed an awkward moment for Steve Harvey when he called Colombia.

But Miss Colombia proved she’s confidently beautiful “with a heart” for forgiveness.

8. When Philippines was announced as one of the Top 13, Pinoys made sure they were roaring loud:

9. Miss Philippines was called right after Miss Colombia and Steve Harvey just couldn’t handle it.

15. Srsly, the twirl did the trick.

Ikot-ikot pa. Ikot. Ikot.

16. Miss Myanmar won Best National Costume.

20. Here are the all of the Top 6’s answers to their respective questions:

21. The Top 3 were: Colombia, France, and Haiti.

Even though Maxine didn’t win the crown, it was nice that for a moment, we are indeed “one as a nation.”

22. The question for the Top 3 was “Name something over the course of your life that you failed at, and tell us what you learned from that experience.”

Miss Colombia told us that those experiences will give us strength, principles, and values.

Miss France taught us that despite our failures, we should know how to try again and keep going.

Miss Haiti made us believe that we are where we are right now maybe because we are living our dreams.

23. Queen Pia did her final walk in that dreamy gown and we couldn’t contain our emotions!

You will always be our KWEEN!

24. And to prevent history from repeating itself, Pia handed Steve his glasses to make sure he sees things clearly.

25. Miss France was crowned as Miss Universe!

Say hello to the new confidently beautiful queen!

26. Because Miss France won, French Fries and French Baker trended on Twitter.

Netizens called out for a sale on almost every “French” restaurant and cafe.

27. And when Pia hugged Maxine after the show, we just couldn’t contain our feelings about it!

Thank you for representing our country, you two!

May next year pa, guys!
