After a long and hopeful wait for a sequel to the film adaptation of the children’s book A Series of Unfortunate Events by American author, Lemony Snicket, back in 2004, we can now look forward to a television adaptation come 2017!

The leading internet television network, Netflix, recently released their first official trailer for the television series of the dark-comedy book series set for release on January 13, produced by Emmy Award winner Barry Sonnenfeld and Daniel Handler.

The series revolves around the life of three orphaned siblings: Violet (Malina Weissman), Klaus (Louis Hynes), and Sunny Baudelaire, who encountered a chain of unfortunate and tragic events as their evil guardian, Count Olaf (Neil Patrick Harris), attempts to steal their family’s fortune from them.

Comedic and dark, the thirteen-book series were compressed into eight episodes that promise fun, adventure, mystery, and deceit to the viewers!

What an unfortunate way to start of the year with this new Netflix Original Series!
