November 14th, 2016 – Singapore – Singapore punk-rock legends, Plainsunset, has released their fifth and final full-length album ‘Both Boxer & Benjamin’. Fans can get the digital album here: hyperurl.co/PlainsunsetBBB, and stream the album on Spotify: hyperurl.co/PSBBBspotify or Deezer: hyperurl.co/PSBBBdeezer
“The album title is based on the theme and the characters from George Orwell’s “Animal Farm”. It’s not so much to do with his portrayal of communism, but more to do with the personalities,” explains Jon Chan, frontman of Plainsunset. “It’s about how all of us have both the idealist (Boxer the Horse) and the pragmatic cynic (Benjamin the Donkey). A large part of the themes are to do with social politics and dynamics.”
Along with the album release, Plainsunset has announced their final show on December 3rd, at The Esplanade, Annexe Studio. Entry is priced $15 and door is scheduled to open at 8pm.
Formed in 1996, Plainsunset has become a household name and one of the most influential and inspiring bands in Singapore. With 4 full-length albums, 2 re-issues and 1 EP under their belt, they have taken their music to Malaysia, Hong Kong, The Philippines, New Zealand, China and most recently Australia.
