Remember Hachiko, the dog who waited for 9 years for his deceased owner to come back? This time, it’s a cat who grieves for the loss of her owner and spent a year living at her grave since she passed away.
Why are all these animals breaking our hearts with their undying love?!
At a burial plot in Central Java, Indonesia, a passerby, Keli Keningau Prayitno, 28, claims that he heard the cat’s cries as he found her lying there on the ground. Keli eventually decided to adopt the cat but the loyal cat would always return to her previous owner’s grave and would come back to Keli for food.
Despite being adopted by Keli, the cat still refuses to leave the grave and stays there night and day for almost a year.
“I thought she was homeless and tried to help but every time she would keep returning to the same place.”
After following the cat, Keli said that he found out that the former owner of the cat was an old lady named Ibu Kundari who recently passed away. “It’s very sad to see. It shows just how close animals are to their owners,” added Keli.
