Warning: If you love animals, this animated short film will break your heart

Prepare thy feelings…

..and get ready to put your heart back together after it breaks into a million little pieces.

In an animated short titled “Dream,” created by DDB New York and presented at the Wildlife Conservation Film Festival (WCFF), endangered species of rhinos, seals, whales, and pelicans sing “I Dreamed A Dream” from the highly-acclaimed Broadway musical “Les Miserables.”

And the same way Fantine’s despair came through in her singing, the animals in the video — once hopeful and viewed the world as a wonderful place to live in — now sing in melancholy as humans take not just their dreams and homes away, but also their lives.

The WCFF aims to raise awareness on wildlife conservation to show the impact of our actions on these endangered animals and our world. The video shows that through our concerted effort, we can help all animals live in a world where they can run free and swim the depths of the oceans in peace, before it’s too late.
