Following the success of recent single ‘Walks Like Rihanna’, the bad boys of pop are back with a new single ‘We Own The Night’ (out worldwide on August 11th) and album ‘Word Of Mouth’ (out September), through Island Records / Global Talent.
The single is set for a simultaneous first radio play around the world at 5pm GMT/9am PST/12 noon EST on Monday August 5th. The following Sunday, August 11th, the single will be live on iTunes. US fans were treated to a sneak peak of the single at the end of the season finale of E! TV series ‘The Wanted Life’.
The single is the late summer pop anthem we’ve all been waiting for; killer dance beats with a chorus so catchy you’ll have to have it surgically removed from your psyche. ‘We Own The Night’ was written and produced by The Messengers, Nasri and Adam (David Guetta, Justin Bieber, Christina Aguilera, Jason Derulo) and was mixed by Serban Ghena (Beyonce, Michael Jackson, Justin Timberlake).

The album promises a combination of classic pop as well as exploring some new ground for The Wanted with more details to follow shortly. ‘Word Of Mouth’ also features the smash hit singles ‘Chasing The Sun’ and ‘I Found You’. The album will be available to pre-order from August 19th.

“It’s taken us two years to make this album and now that it’s finally finished we are all really proud of the time and effort, not just that we put in to it but all the writers and the label too. We think it’s our strongest album to date. We can’t wait for our fans to hear it. They’ve been really patient but hopefully they’ll think it’s worth the wait!”
2013 has been a roller coaster year for The Wanted: They have been invading houses with a new TV show, ‘The Wanted Life’ (now on E! where you can catch the group and all of their antics); they have won The People’s Choice Award for Favourite Breakout Artist (beating off competition from Fun, Gotye, Carly Rae Jepson and One Direction); performed at the Capital FM Summertime Ball and band member Nathan Sykes has overcome specialist surgery to correct a haemorrhaging vocal cord.
Still to come: the band have gigs including Fusion Festival (September 1st). They also have shows coming up in California and Las Vegas before co-headlining with Carly Rae Jepsen in Kentucky. A full list of tour dates can be found here.
