Ateneo’s premier music org presents 2016 recital ‘Playback’

The Ateneo Musicians’ Pool is the premier music organization in the Ateneo. It was established for the protection of soloists’ and bands in the university, but through its 19 years, it has grown to be an organization where musicians and music lovers alike come together. The org is a home for designers, photographers, videographers, writers, marketers, promoters, and sound engineers asides from performers

This year’s recital, Playback, is dedicated to everyone who played a part in the students’ growth throughout their college lives. It is a tribute to everyone who has played a part in their lives, an opportunity for them to play their feelings back to everybody.

OVERTURE

The Overture encapsulates the grand feeling of adventure and anticipation of a new, incoming College freshman. As a freshman, you’re told that college will be one hell of a roller coaster ride – tons of ups and downs, whether it be during times of defeat and distress, or times of achievement and all-out fun. There are almost no other feelings similar to that of embarking on an all-new adventure. The Overture chapter revisits these feelings through the mastery of their instrumental dynamics.

CAREFREE

Embarking on a grand adventure also entails a ton of new opportunities, not only in terms of activities, but in terms of the people you meet and the friends you make. Having a wave of new people thrown at you is, more often than not, a step towards tons of fun times and unforgettable memories. These are the same people who give you a break when you need it – who invite you to their events, their hangouts, their road trips, and others. The Carefree chapter, as you’d expect, conveys the feeling of being young, wild, and free.

REFLECTION

Even amidst all of the adventure and all of the fun times, no person is complete without alone time. This is the time you use to reflect – to search deep within yourself, recall all the memories that meant a lot to you, and look forward to new ones. Being alone doesn’t translate to being lonely – whether it be in times of happiness, sadness, or melancholy, it’s time with yourself that allows you to take in all that you are and all that you’ve experienced. The Reflection chapter conveys this with their soulful renditions

MOTIVATION

Life isn’t complete without difficult times – and these difficult times would be near impossible to get through without the help and motivation given by our mentors and peers. Some people are there to train you, and assure that you get better and better in what you do. Some people are there to make you feel like flying sky high and reaching for your biggest aspirations, as if you have the whole world in your hands. The Motivation Chapter is an embodiment of this feeling brought about by those who have been incredibly passionate about motivating others.

FULFILLMENT

At the end of the day, regardless of how many people you meet and what aspect of yourself they may have formed, it’s your closest loved ones that make you feel at home. These are the people whom you know you can fall back to no matter what. These are the people you come home to, feeling at peace with simply being yourself. With these people, you feel fulfilled – and that in itself is just about the best feeling one can ask for. The Fulfillment Chapter is a form of thanks to all those who have played this role in our lives.

SENIOR’S CHAPTER

AMP, of course, is an organization of students that have had their own versions of their own versions of their own journeys through college. Now, there is a batch of students that are less than a month away from the end of that journey. The seniors have had an amazing time throughout their stay. The huge variety of things they’ve experienced have molded them into exactly who they are. Now, it’s time for them to give thanks to the greater community for letting them have these experiences. Seniors’ Chapter, salute.
