All roads lead to the National Cheerleading Championship this March!

Now on its 11th season, the National Cheerleading Competition (NCC) brings together the nation’s top cheerleading squads to compete for the much-coveted number one spot!

Ever since its formation in 2006, the NCC has been consistently improving the caliber of cheerleading in the country. The 250 participating schools from across the archipelago this season is a testament of its growth. Also, the introduction of the stunts and dance competition in 2010 and 2011 respectively has opened the doors for more teams to enlist.

Among the squads to watch for is the National University Pep Squad! Just like their men’s basketball team, the Bulldogs have turned the corner and has become a legitimate contender. Since 2013, NU has been consistently in the top three, including wins in 2013 and 2015.

There are so-called “sleepers” who tend to fly under the radar, only to make a big splash later in the event. Perhaps no other team holds this distinction in the NCC than the Central Colleges of the Philippines Bobcats—a constant in the podium ever since the inaugural repetition of the contest and are very much eager to bring home a record-setting 6th NCC Nationals Trophy in the College Division.

On March 19 and 20, the nation will have the chance to see only the finest in the cheerleading field at the NCC National Finals. Which squad will pass with flying colors?
