Dubbed “The Globe-Star Wars Galactic Celebration,” the public was given a unique Star Wars experience outside the cinema with games and interactive installations that served as the perfect weekend activity not only for fans but for the entire family.

One of the activities was the Galactic Challenge, a specially-designed obstacle course where one’s skill, insight, and courage were tested through a series of challenges. Participants were given two categories to choose from – Light Side or Dark Side. Every hour, Globe awarded those with the best finish time with treats. The participant with the fastest time after the 2-day event won the coveted Sphero BB8 droid offered exclusively by Globe in its GEN3 Stores.

Globe Telecom, in partnership with The Mind Museum and Teach for the Philippines, also implemented corporate social responsibility efforts during the Galactic Celebration weekend by providing learning opportunities for the public school sector.

Globe Senior Advisor for Consumer Business Dan Horan invites everyone to bring their families over for the weekend to experience the Star Wars park as part of Globe Telecom’s Galactic Celebration.

Volunteers were selected to be big brothers and sisters to 100 public school kids as they toured the museum and joined the Read-Along activities.

“Through these efforts, Globe is able to engage student beneficiaries and enable them to have an unforgettable Star Wars experience, while increasing their appreciation and understanding of science and technology, ensuring that the entire Star Wars experience is enjoyed by the greater majority,” said Daniel Horan, Globe Senior Advisor for Consumer Business.

Guests were wowed by the perfect choreography of the Philippine Lightsabers Guild who showed off their techniques in handling a light saber.

Special screenings of Star Wars: The Force Awakens in different cities across the country will also give underprivileged kids the chance to watch the movie.

All in all, it has been an exciting and unforgettable weekend for Star Wars fans of all ages. We can’t wait for what Globe has in store for us next!
