59th Annual National Convention for Junior Members and Teacher Advisers

“CMLI JC-NEB 2017 sent you a message!”

Are you ready for this, dreamers?

As the Children’s Museum and Library, Inc. (CMLI) celebrates 60 years of Filipino youth empowerment, the CMLI Junior Council – National Executive Board (JC-NEB) 2017 invites high school students from the country to the 59th Annual National Convention for Junior Members and Teacher Advisers on November 8-12 at Teachers’ Camp in Baguio City.

This year, the five-day convention features various competitions, workshops, and group activities revolving around the theme “Dream for the Nation! Engaging the Filipino Youth as Responsible Digital Citizens in Cultivating a Unified Online Community.”

The delegates can showcase their different skills through the Competitions for Entertainment and Competitions for Excellence. The Competitions for Entertainment include Battle of the Bands, Hip Hop Dancing, Solo Singing, Spoken Word, Quartet Singing, and Talent Variety Show, while the Competitions for Excellence include Extemporaneous Speaking, Marketing Speech, Radio Drama, Photojournalism, Digital Poster Making/Editorial Cartooning, Short Film Making, Pop Quiz Hotshots, Essay Writing, News Writing, and Poetry Writing.

Guest speakers were also invited to share their expertise in their respective fields with the delegates through the workshops, which include Public Speaking, Modeling/Personality Development, Photography, Theatre, Creative Writing, Business Marketing, Hip Hop Dancing, Project Feasibility Study, DanceSport, and Research.

Lastly, regarded as the “heart” of CMLI conventions, the Commission Discussions are group activities partnered with group discussions in which delegates are given opportunities to further explore the convention theme, while also meeting delegates from other schools!
